The Art of Observation

“To me, photography is an art of observation. It’s about finding something interesting in an ordinary place… I’ve found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.” ~ Elliott Erwitt

Have you ever found something that piqued your interest, something that the ordinary person just passes by without a second glance?

I have always found that the most interesting things are items that have been discarded or forgotten. Weathered with time and neglect they become something all together different from what they started out as. They become unique and interesting, possessing an isolated beauty. As Mr. Erwitt stated “it has little to do with what you see and everything to do with the way you see them.”

For me, I can only imagine what once was, and how they came to be…and for now they are a piece of my story.
